Financial literacy for youth and adults. My interests lie in implementing effective financial education for schools, households, and community outreach settings.
As Ohio’s Extension contact for the National Endowment for Financial Education High School Financial Planning Program and an active member of the Ohio Commission for Personal Finance Education, I partner with internal and external state leaders to recommend approaches and conduct workshops for professional and lay audiences. I provide financial literacy expertise to interdisciplinary initiatives (Knowledge Economy, Workforce Development, KnowHow2Go) focused on preparing youth for success in today’s economy.
Another focus is statewide implementation of OSU Extension’s New Start for Financial Success program that is approved by the Department of Justice to fulfill bankruptcy filer's Debtor Education requirement. A related website is under construction to meet information needs of teachers, attorneys, and clientele.
